Rockabill Lighthouse (Picture by Carl Ford)The lighthouse was built from stone quarried at Milverton Skerries in 1860 at a cost of £13,254. As well as serving shipping it is now the largest and the most important breeding site in Europe for the now rare Roseate Tern, playing host to 500 breeding pairs annually. A permit is required to visit Rockabill. |
